Lyft is offering medical and meal deliveries to the elderly & vulnerable

Ride-hailing company Lyft is expanding its services amid the corona outbreak as it announced its launching of a medical delivery service to the elderly and those living with chronic diseases, as well as delivering food to the vulnerable and students who usually get subsidized lunches during this time. The company will also be offering non-emergency medical transportation for people with lower incomes and who don’t require an ambulance.

Its delivery option started as a small pilot in San Francisco and will focus on picking up meals from centralized distribution centers facilitated by government agencies to provide food for specific homebound seniors and low-income students who normally rely on state-sponsored meal options.

This new service will give those most affected by COVID_19s current quarantine measures the access to important services, however Lyft will also be offering its usual ride-hailing services too.
