Instacart is sharing data with manufacturers to save the supply chain

It will come as no surprise to you that food and consumer demands are up!

This sudden spike in sales may offer a certain economic benefit to companies, but has been causing caos throughout the production and supply chain, leaving empty supermarket shelves and disgruntled consumers.

Instacart has come up with a solution to ease these supply chain issues – which includes making their real-time inventory figures public for their manufacturers. Since the grocery giant is present in more than 5,500 cities across North America and is working with a long line of manufacturers, the company believes it is able to offer effective insights into the products that are running low and how shoppers how filling their carts. 

The company has been working on this offer since last year, but didn´t plan to release it so early. However it seems like it couldnt have come at a better time, as shoppers demands and needs are changing thanks to covid19, manufacturers are being forced to shift their focuses, mainly to CPG products.
